Addiction & Substance Use Treatment

Substance use rarely starts as the problem — it usually starts as the solution. At Anchor Psychiatry, we treat the whole picture: the addiction and the underlying anxiety, depression, trauma, or pain driving it. No judgment. Just care.

Our Approach

How we treat addiction & substance use

Substance use and mental health are almost never separate problems. We treat both — together — with a personalized, evidence-based plan that meets you where you are.

Psychiatric Evaluation & Diagnosis

We begin with a comprehensive evaluation to understand your full history — not just your substance use, but the anxiety, depression, trauma, or other conditions that may be driving it. Accurate diagnosis is the foundation of effective treatment.

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)

For opioid use disorder, FDA-approved medications can significantly reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms, supporting sustained recovery. For alcohol use disorder, evidence-based medications can reduce the urge to drink. Nicole will discuss whether MAT is appropriate for your situation.

Co-Occurring Mental Health Treatment

Most people with substance use disorders also have an underlying psychiatric condition — anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, or PTSD. Treating both simultaneously produces far better outcomes than addressing either alone.

Ongoing Medication Management

Recovery is not a one-time event. We provide regular follow-up appointments to monitor your progress, adjust medications as needed, and support you through the challenges of sustained recovery.

Recovery starts with one conversation

You don't need to have it figured out before you reach out. That's what we're here for.
